Written below Is an account regarding the personal discovery of Maryam DeSarre– an esteemed Parisian model and inspiration to many.

A warm glow surrounds me as I swipe through countless images of faces and things. On Instagram, of course. An occasional squirrel flaunts its acrobatic skills, and a badger rides a bike. Somewhere in the mix, I also spot a really cute dress. But I digress. And then, dear reader, I stumble across the most unforgettable face. I’d like to say it was around midnight when I pressed my finger firmly against the screen, hoping to freeze the moment in time. Her face glows softly in my dimly lit room.

Her features are so striking that I must pause – to be honest, I’m shook.

In a fit of wonder, I frantically grab my phone to tell a friend. As one does in such circumstances. I’m yelling in all caps, unable to contain my awe for Maryam DeSarres’ beauty.

In Maryam’s face, I find home – a moment of relief and pride I hadn’t felt before.

It’s as if Eid had come early. Why? Because hers is a face that feels refreshingly new, yet deeply resonant. A beauty I hadn’t had the privilege of witnessing until now. A face I didn’t realise could inspire me, because I hadn’t seen it yet. Though we look very different, there’s something undeniably familiar in the connection I felt as I gazed at the screen, and it seemed to gaze back at me.

Naturally, I dove back into Instagram, eager to uncover the projects Maryam had been part of and I was instantly in awe. The most inspiring thing about Maryam is the effortless grace with which she navigates the fashion industry and commands the catwalk. It’s nothing short of magical, to witness her journey unfold on social media, a front-row seat to someone fulfilling their birthright. From modelling for Cecilie Bahnsen and The Garment, to gracing the runway at Copenhagen Fashion Week. Maryam’s presence is magnificent. Her recent feature in the latest Beyond Noise issue only solidifies her status as a trailblazer.

Maryam DeSarre isn’t just someone to watch; she’s the inspiration we’ve all been waiting for.
